How Cainiao’s Hong Kong eHub is serving as a key gateway to connect the world
The 12th Asian Logistics, Maritime and Aviation Conference (ALMAC), jointly organised by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), was held on 22nd and 23rd November. Cainiao’s Hong Kong eHub — Cainiao Smart Gateway, is proud to attend as a key logistics participant at this year’s annual event and showcase the unique advantages of the smart logistics facility to fellow industry leaders.
Being one of the largest annual Hong Kong industry events, ALMAC has aggregated leading industry experts to discuss the latest development trends. With superior geographical advantages, Hong Kong connects the Bay Area, and serves as the gateway for goods from all over the world to enter China. With the airport’s third runway in its final development stage, Hong Kong is perfectly positioned to be a focal point on the regional aviation map.
Cainiao Smart Gateway’s CEO Yin Daxue spoke at the “Air Freight Forum — Future-Proofing an Air Cargo Hub” where he discussed the development of Hong Kong as an international aviation hub. Daxue expressed optimism towards Hong Kong and the Bay Area, and shed light on the Cainiao Smart Gateway project. The logistics centre is set to be 4,100,000 square feet with 12 floors, and will be in service in the 3rd quarter of 2023.
Cainiao Smart Gateway is located in Hong Kong International Airport, and is the first smart logistics facility ever built since 1998, the founding year of the airport. It will connect Hong Kong to the rest of the world and bolster access to the Greater Bay Area. The logistic facility has the most advanced and innovative logistics technology in the industry, which will pave the way for a new era of smart logistics to take off in Hong Kong.
